Shamsuddeen Magaji is the current dean of Faculty of Law, Bauchi State University, Gadau, Nigeria. He earned a PhD in Law from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in 2018. He obtained a master’s degree with specialization in Corporate Law from UUM in 2015 and graduated as the overall best postgraduate student, earning the Vice Chancellors’ Gold Medal and the Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal at the university’s 28th convocation ceremony. Shamsuddeen earned a bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB Honours and Sharia) from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria, in 2010 and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar as barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He was appointed as a notary public by the Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2021. He joined Bauchi State University in 2013 and has held several academic and administrative positions at the university, including Governing Council member, University Senate member, deputy dean of Law, head of department for Islamic Law, and head of department for Private and Business Law. He specializes in corporate governance law and has a developing interest in the field of law and religion. He has published several scholarly papers in recognised journals.
