Brandon Reece Taylorian is an associate lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where he has taught several modules in the Religion, Culture and Society program. He is also an associate lecturer at Lancaster University where he has taught modules on the history of human rights and on public law. Taylorian is a specialist in recognition and registration issues for religious or belief organizations and has undertaken doctoral research at UCLan since 2021 on the subject, focusing on how such issues impact conditions of religious freedom. Some of his doctoral research findings have been published in the peer-reviewed Oxford Journal of Law and Religion. In 2019, Taylorian achieved a first-class bachelor’s degree with honors in business and marketing from UCLan, and in 2020, he achieved a master’s with distinction in religion, culture, and society from UCLan. Taylorian’s work is highly interdisciplinary, and he has interests across the fields of law, religion, and human rights, with a special focus on new religious movements. Taylorian works with the Centre for International Law and Human Rights at Lancaster University and the School of Law and Policing at UCLan to disseminate his research on religious recognition and registration law.
