Anubhav Raj Shekhar is an assistant professor at the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). He holds a first degree in law from National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, in addition to master’s degrees from the University of Oxford and Azim Premji University. Shekhar started his career as a corporate transactional lawyer working with Wipro Ltd. in Bangalore, handling communications and consultancy contracts. He transitioned to legal academia in 2019 and has taught at some leading institutions in India. Before joining JGLS, Shekhar taught a core course on constitutional law in addition to offering an elective on law and religion at the BML Munjal University, Gurugram. The law and religion course was designed to introduce undergraduate students to contemporary debates in the field, in the Indian context. Shekhar’s research interests include exploring the colonial foundations of India’s jurisprudence on freedom of religion, in addition to scrutinizing the scope of judicial intervention in matters of religious freedom. He is also interested in questions related to access to justice. Shekhar is passionate about teaching and developing new methods to ensure comprehensive skill-based learning.
