Amir Mohammad Esmaeili is a late-stage PhD candidate at the Middle East Studies Institute, Shanghai International Studies University. He graduated from Imam Sadiq University in Iran, having double-majored in political science and Islamic studies. His research interests encompass
international relations, China–Middle East relations, and Islamic studies. Esmaeili has published scholarly works in both Persian and English, including his article “Identity, China’s Foreign Policy and Iran’s Nuclear Program” (AJMEIS 2022) and the book Understanding International Politics After Covid-19: Challenges, Issues and Perspectives (ISU Press 2020). He has participated in diverse international conferences, symposia, and programs across different countries. Esmaeili has collaborated with renowned Iranian research organizations, media outlets, and newspapers, as well as esteemed institutions such as the Iranian Parliament Research Center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. He has received multiple awards at both national and university levels, including the Top Young Researcher Award from Imam Sadiq University (2019–20). His language proficiency spans Persian, English, Arabic, and Chinese.
